I'm typing this entry from my bedroom. I am sort of self-exiling myself here. There are a lot of things i don't want to say in this diary, but one thing i will say is... i felt uncomfortable in a way that i can't really go into right now... maybe later.

Do I sound like I'm speaking in spy-lingo? Sorry :) I don't mean to do that.

I finally went to see another movie (i don't get out much - maybe i've self-exiled myself to the bedroom a few too many times) I saw "Chicago" with the lovely Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellweger (sp?). Even with the addition of Richard Gere... i liked it. He is one of those guys that doesn't do much for me. I saw him outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre last year when i was trying to catch a glimpse at Dave. Richard Gere is a very short man. Plus... there's that whole gerbil deal to worry about. Wonder if Peta's ever started any investigation on those claims. The Chicago thang was cool. I feel like such a fool in retrospect for not going to see it on Broadway when i was in NY so many times on vacation.

When I was 16 years old I went to see my aunt. I was supposed to stay with her for ONE MONTH. This was the late great-aunt Maxine, my grandmother's sister. She was one of those fabulous characters that my family tends to have in them. It would seem like a fictitious character if I described her, but indeed she was a real person. She was a chain-smoking broad with a penchant for hard alcohol. She was the beauty editor for Family Circle Magazine for quite some time in the fifties through the seventies.

She was one of those ladies that went to see a play at least once a week. But she would never take us to ANY revivals. It was like... they've already done it - why do they need to do it again? So I always got treated to new stuff when I was in NYC.. even if it was something that a sixteen year old wouldn't really want to watch.

I'm rambling. I must go do something productive. Maybe hang out with frida for a while. That's productive, isn't it?

okay - big meeting tomorrow for the library clerks at Mission Valley - woo hoo... it's a potluck!

Oh one more thing. I got a call at the library that was super duper intense. This fellow was looking for a book called "Secret Happy and the New Pair of Shoes" - he claims it's a a collaborative effort between Danielle Steel and Leroi Jones... is that possible? I couldn't find any links to such a collaboration, so I just let the fellow ramble. It's allegedly from a publisher that is an off-shoot of Gutter Press (yes, that is actually a publisher) but I still couldn't find it after doing a quick look through their website.

Then... he started talking about how there was this whole series of books with different authors working together that would seemingly be from different backgrounds. Get this... (once again i use this term) ALLEGEDLY... the next "collaboration" in this series will be a novel by... Stephen King and... HELOISE. If anyone knows anything about this, let me know - if you don't know anything about this, but are fascinated by the story... i hear ya. If it's all a figment of someone's imagination, it's pretty funny. I just sat and listened to him ramble in a sort of rain man way about all of this... heck... it kept me from helping the next person in line!

okay - me gotta go now.
